Walrus sounds for kids
SaysHssss
What sound does a walrus make?
A walrus snorts, hisses and bellows. Up close a walrus often lets out a breathy, hissing snort through its whiskers. Under the water, male walruses make knocking and ringing sounds that are almost like a bell, and they keep it up for hours to get noticed. Walrus mothers and calves call to each other on the ice.
Try it together
Make two tusks with your fingers and blow a long, breathy “hssss” through your teeth like a walrus.
One animal, drawn three ways
Every card in Kidster comes in three styles. Some children love the cartoon, others recognise the real animal sooner. A parent picks the style in the Parent Zone, and the sound stays the same.
